When your day needs the Word to Bloom!

Have you ever received news that turned your bright, sunny day into a gloomy one and your plans for the day topsy-turvy? Well, this is where I am now! What had I planned for the day? What do I do next?

I'm shocked!

It's unbelievable!

It was unexpected!

I'm hurt!

Didn’t see it coming! But if I’m experiencing all these emotions at the news received, what about the persons directly affected by the news? Therefore, my attention must turn from my feelings and think about what they are going through. So, I have to...

Regroup.

Refocus.

Redirect.

How? Use the Word of God! This is when the Seed (Word of God) springs forth that has been cultivated within your heart for days like this. A heart that belongs to God and a spirit that is filled with the Holy Spirit will immediately come to your rescue. The Holy Spirit brings to your remembrance the life-giving Word…

“My grace is sufficient.”

“I will never leave you nor forsake.”

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all.”

“In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

"My life is hidden in Christ."

"All things work together for good to them that love God, and are the called according to His purpose."

Instead your perspective changes and you realize that God is not shaken nor surprised by the news because He is “All-knowing.” He knew this day would come and how the news would be devastating. Therefore, we must always seek to see from His perspective and trust Him as our Sovereign Lord.

On any given day things can happen! We can receive news that shakes our world. News that sends our emotions on a roller-coaster. However, if we have planted the Seed of God’s Word in our heart, it will spring up when we need to see our day in full bloom. It will turn your day back into a more beautiful one than you imagined.

Can you tell as I am closing this musing minute that my outlook has changed?

YOUR TURN:

What news have you received that has altered your day? What Word has God spoken to you that changed your perspective?
